Maybe this should be a tradition?
Inspired by maangchi’s recipe, but using dried shrimp (ground up) instead of oysters among a few other little changes. In 3 days, my house will smell awful. Hooray!

It looks great! Beautiful photos! Actually many people use salty fermented shrimp in their radish kimchi. http://www.maangchi.com/ingredients/salted-shrimp
Good to know! I thought I remembered reading it somewhere once upon a time and figured I’d give it a shot. I had to grind them up with the garlic & ginger though, the little eyeballs freak me out. haha! I like cooked shrimp a little more than cooked oysters. I guess that’s what’s awesome about making your own kimchi– it’s infinitely personalizeable! Thanks for commenting! :)
